We’re having a growth spurt – that calls for a new office space!
Life at a startup can be hugely unpredictable and the whole team must be adaptable and solution-oriented at all times for everything to come together. Luckily, we’ve managed to form a team just like that here at Autonomous Mobility, and, over the course of the past year, we’ve experienced a huge growth spurt. This is great thing for any startup – but it has resulted in the need for more space as our old office simply doesn’t fit us anymore!
Over time, our beloved office has acquired countless nicknames: The “Garage” or “Shed” has housed us for quite some time, and it has served us well. In the beginning , it was just our CEO, Peter Sorgenfri, occupying the space, which at that point had lots of room for Autonomous Mobility to grow. Today, we number 17 employees – and will soon be bringing even more talented individuals on board.
Our “shed” on the outskirts of the DTU campus has housed countless birthday celebrations, Friday bars, training sessions and other festive occasions. It’s also had it’s charms inviting clients to meetings in one of our buses parked outside – initially a fun gimmick, which in the end became more of a necessity due to lack of space.
We’ve been thrilled to be working on the DTU campus, so when the opportunity arose to join the new office community in Futurebox, it made sense to uproot our dear shed and to move on to something bigger and better. We moved to Elektrovej 331 on May 1st, and we’re already settling in nicely.
Sizing up, travelling and relocating are all time and energy consuming tasks. Our lovely families have always shown us great support and interest in our work, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to celebrate our recent move with an open house event, inviting everyone to join us for a ride in our driverless buses. We wanted to show everyone a good time and to thank all of our loved ones for their encouragement and support.
And so, last weekend we invited our families and friends to our brand new office space to enjoy driverless rides and delicious food from the grill. The kids played together and we “adults” had fun too. It was the perfect way to celebrate our company’s recent successes. We’re starting to feel real momentum now that our wheels are finally touching ground in various pilots and awareness of our company is growing.
A huge thanks to everyone who joined us on our family day! We loved meeting all of you and finally getting to show you how it feels to ride our self-driving buses.
